Held at Claudelands Events Centre during the 2024 and 2025 summer holidays, the Claudelands Ice Rink brought a festive winter experience to the middle of a New Zealand summer. With temperatures reaching over 30 degrees outside and a cool 12 degrees inside, the rink offered the perfect escape from the heat and a unique way to celebrate the holiday season. Designed as a fun and memorable Christmas activity, the rink created a space where families, friends, and visitors could come together during the busiest time of year. From school holiday outings to end-of-year celebrations, it delivered a festive atmosphere that felt completely different from the typical Kiwi summer experience. Combining ice skating, music, lighting, and a chilled indoor setting, the experience brought a touch of winter magic to Hamilton while remaining relaxed, social, and accessible for all ages.
