Activated across Auckland in both summer and winter settings, the Auckland Ice Rink has brought a unique pop-up ice experience to some of the city’s busiest destinations. The first installation took place at Sylvia Park during December 2020 and January 2021, transforming one of New Zealand’s largest retail centres into a festive summer attraction. In the middle of Auckland’s warm holiday season, visitors were able to step onto real ice and experience a cool escape from the summer heat.

The experience continued in July 2021 at North Harbour Stadium, where the rink brought a full winter activation to the North Shore during the school holidays. This seasonal contrast helped deliver two very different but equally memorable experiences — one set in the height of summer, and the other in the heart of winter.
